NovaraJazz 2009

NovaraJazz 2009 moves the main stage to Piazza Duomo and Conservatorio Cantelli. The festival opens with the Rova Saxophone Quartet, american ensemble of only saxophones, and with the legendary indian percussionist Trilok Gurtu, on stage with his group and special guest the pianist Fabrizio Ottaviucci. The Chicago Stompers and the Bik Bent Braam’s dutch jazz orchestra explore differente jazz periods. NovaraJazz hosts the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and their european premiere.

NovaraJazz’s music contaminationsounds also into DJ sets at Blues Café with guests such as Alessio Bertallot, Nicola Conte, Soulful Torino and Michael “Pomonkey” Robinson.

Sixth edition introduces Jazz & Wine concerts. This formula provides music performances in characteristic locations in Novara and around and with local foods and wines tasting. The NovaraJazz 2009 Jazz & Wine concerts locations are Briona Castle and Villa Picchetta in Cameri.
