NovaraJazz 2014|15

NovaraJazz season 2014/2015 starts in october and it’s confirmed as the only stage in the heart of Novara for great jazz. During XII edition NovaraJazz hosts artists from the national and international jazz scene: Paolo Angeli and Endriss Hassen in duo for a NovaraJazz goes to Ethiopia night, Parole e Musica intorno alla Storia del Jazz with Nico Gori, Walter Paoli, Piergiorgio Pirro and Matteo Anelli, Keith and Julie Tippett, Frode Haltli and Gianni Coscia, a preview of the Danilo Gallo new project Danilo Gallo DARK DRY TEARS with Francesco Bearzatti, Francesco Bigoni and Jim Black, Steve Lehman in trio with Damion Reid and Matt Brewer and finally Sandro Cerino with Orchestra Cantelli.

The novelty of this season is a new show Taste of Jazz with a weekly appointment at Opificio with young artists and bands in the jazz scene of northern Italy: NIDO Workshop, Insight Trio, Giuseppe Vitale Trio, Antonio Zambrini and Pietro Tonolo, Lafayette Gilchrist in piano solo, Raw Frame, Ferner & Juliusson, Marcos Quartet, Andrea Grossi Trio, Unexpected 4et, Melodius + Rolf Duo, Funkin’ Monks, A – S E P T i C, NuTimbre + Dalila Kayros, Samoa Wedding Trio, NovaraJazz Collective, Hanuman Quartet, nDem, Swedish Mobilia, Satoyama Quartet, Bozzolan Swedish Trio, Falling Sky, Fracture Max Speed.

NovaraJazz 2015 starts with the first week end of concerts in historical location in and around Novara and with the ICP Orchestra artistic residence at Parco Neogotico in Ameno. The performance Olanda in Due with Bo van de Graaf and Michiel Braam is is a balance between improvisation, jazz, blues and contemporary music. Tin Men & The Thelephone comes from Amsterdam to Novara for a show where music combines sounds in everyday life, theatrical and visual aspects. The surpising KAKAFONISSIMO is a claxon concert designed by Dutch musician and composer Bo van de Graaf. The Fabbrica dei Botti ensemble is a band where some of the best italian jazz and avant-gard improvisers try to trace some possible paths between the blues concreteness and the abstraction of improvisation. XOL feat. Peter Brӧtzmann go up on the stage for the absolute preview of the show Something Else!. The Steve Lacy tribute concert is Worlds of Steve Lacy with an exclusive enesemble: Roberto Ottaviano, Giorgio Vendola, Enzo Lanzo, Giovanni Falzone. The London Night protagonist is the Hackney Colliery Band, a brass band from East London.

NovaraJazz is not just concerts and is completed with others collateral activities: concerts with tasting typical food and wine in the historic places in and around Novara, jam session, happy hours with dj set, the Francesca Patella photo exhibition Twenty Years with ICP Orchestra, the vinyl exposition Primavera Vintage Vinile and the second edition of StreetJazz with over 50 concerts and bands along Novara streets in collaboration with Conservatorio di Como, Torino, Alessandria, Scuola di Musica Dedalo, Civici Corsi Jazz di Milano.
